I consider MP Hussein Al-Haj Hassan
The claim issued by the government commissioner before the military court against a number of Lebanese citizens lacks the most basic rules of the National Charter, the Human Rights Bill, the United Nations Charter, and many Lebanese laws, all of which guarantee the legitimate rights of any resistance against the occupation.
He stressed that the detainees and the rest of the accused citizens were carrying out a national duty in defense of their country and state sovereignty and to protect the Lebanese people, which is what they deserve to be honored, not tried, and they have nothing to do with all the false accusations issued by parties in and outside of power.
He said: Regardless of the local and external political targeting that accompanied this case, basing this decision on some articles of the Penal Code is not at all proportional to the mission that the defendants were carrying out, and this accusation is unfair and unjust, and its merits are subject to well-known political dictates. These resistance fighters were not in a position to harm the security and safety of the state, but rather they are facing the Israeli enemy that threatens the existence of Lebanon through its continued occupation and the crimes of assassination, bombing, and destruction that it practices daily against our homeland. And our people.
