American media estimates showed, on Tuesday, that Democrats will seize control of the House of Representatives from Republicans, in a radical shift that portends a clash during the second half of President Donald Trump's term. CNN and NBC announced these estimates, with the latter expecting Democrats to win at least 244 seats in the 435-member House of Representatives. Democratic progress was not limited to the first chamber, as the party has so far snatched seven seats from Republicans in the Senate, in Iowa, Kansas, Ohio, Maine, North Carolina, South Carolina and Texas, according to NBC News. US President Donald Trump announced his willingness to accept the results of the midterm congressional elections and work with the Democrats, amid Republican electoral losses that threaten their control of the House of Representatives and the Senate. Trump confirmed in a press interview his intention to cooperate with the Democrats and the possibility of reaching joint understandings with them, in an interview with the New York Times on Tuesday evening, according to what was reported by NBC. The US President previously posted a picture of a red hat bearing the word “Veto” while the election results were coming in. Trump had announced that he was ready to veto legislation pushed by Democrats if necessary.
