US President Donald Trump, in his first speech after the midterm elections, said that the defeat was largely due to the Iran war. He stressed that he knew that the war would affect the elections, but if he had been given the opportunity to make the decision again, he would have taken the same decision. Trump added that he would not have done anything different from what he did in Iran. He pointed out that the United States had destroyed its military capabilities, that the Strait of Hormuz was open, and that the matter was worth the trouble, while stressing that Iran could not be allowed to obtain a nuclear weapon. Trump noted that the war caused gasoline prices to rise slightly in the short term. But he considered that his country is more successful now than ever before, and that the stock market has set a new record, and that Washington, D.C., which was one of the least safe cities, has now become the safest city during his reign. Regarding the relationship with the Democrats, Trump said that he would most likely get along with them, and would likely reach an agreement with them unless they wanted to be destructive. He pointed out that they called and wanted to talk about some issues, and that he had the power to veto if he did not like what they were doing. He concluded by saying that if his name had been on the ballot, he would have won, but he was unable to convey this support to the candidates. He warned that Democrats would destroy their party if they impeached him, and stressed that he would stay out of the Republican Party leadership race in the House of Representatives.
