The embassies of Canada, the United States of America, the United Kingdom, Australia and Japan affirmed their strong support for the Lebanese government in ensuring the exclusivity of weapons in the hands of the state, stressing that the state alone should be the decision maker in matters of war and peace.
In a joint statement issued on November 5, 2026, the embassies explained that they take note of the steps taken by the Lebanese authorities in the Dahr al-Baydar case, calling for the encouragement of a rapid and independent judicial process, free from any political interference, in a way that ensures full accountability.
The statement stressed the importance of all members of the House of Representatives and party representatives, in light of the current circumstances, adhering to the statements of the President of the Republic and the Prime Minister, which confirm that the Lebanese state alone has the right to make decisions about war and peace.
The embassies also reaffirmed their desire for the Lebanese state to regain its effective and complete sovereign authority over all its territories.
