The Internal Security Forces in Syria announced, in a statement issued by them, the arrest of members of a cell they said was affiliated with Hezbollah, and the seizure of explosive devices in their possession, which were prepared for use in targeting the Homs refinery. The Syrian Ministry of Interior indicated that the operation came after careful security follow-up, explaining that it falls within the framework of the efforts of the security services to pursue terrorist cells, thwart their plans, and protect vital installations and economic capabilities in the country. On the other hand, Hezbollah denied in a statement the accusations contained in the statement of the Syrian Internal Security Forces regarding the alleged cell’s connection to it, stressing that it does not have any presence or connections in Syrian territory, and has no connection to any activity that would undermine the security and stability of Syria. This was not the first time that the party denied its connection to a security cell, as it did so in September 2026 [3]. He added that repeating these accusations and throwing his name in such cases does not change his firm position, stressing that the party’s compass is to confront Israel, which he said is continuing its attacks on Lebanon and Syria and occupying their lands. He considered that confronting Israel and its expansionist plans remains the top priority around which efforts and positions should be united, away from accusations that only serve the Israeli enemy.
