Prime Minister Nawaf Salam chaired a government session in the presence of President Joseph Aoun and the ministers.
The session witnessed debate over referring the explosives truck file to the Judicial Council, which led to the withdrawal of the Lebanese Forces ministers.
After the session ended, Information Minister Paul Morcos announced the approval of most of the agenda items, including cutting the general budget account for 2022.
Morcos confirmed the completion of the resolution of offers related to forensic auditing of electricity production ships and fuel deals related to them.
He pointed out that the Council of Ministers decided to stop using similar medicines imported from non-reference countries and limit the purchase of medicines from reference countries. He also announced the holding of a Council of Ministers session dedicated to the waste sector next Thursday.
The session witnessed the appointment of Joseph Akiki, Walid Saad Fadi Makhlouta, and Musa Awada as members of the Joint Transport and Railways Department.
As for the Dahr Al-Baydar shipment, Morcos explained that the Council of Ministers stressed the need to follow up on the investigation and complete research into the Ministry of Justice’s request to refer the case to the Judicial Council, pointing out that the decision was taken after a discussion within the session.
