The Civil Defense announced on Tuesday that its personnel managed to control and extinguish the fire that broke out in the Batroun mountains, despite the rugged terrain and the difficulty of reaching the fire hotspots. It indicated that a Civil Defense member sustained injuries and fractures during the extinguishing operations following the explosion of an old landmine from war remnants, and was transferred to a hospital for treatment. Civil Defense personnel continued carrying out cooling and monitoring operations until three o'clock in the morning, when they finished their mission after ensuring the fire was extinguished and that no burning hotspots remained.
