US President Donald Trump announced that the council he heads reached an agreement on “the complete disarmament of Hamas and other armed groups” in the Gaza Strip.
Trump described the development as a "defining moment in implementing Trump's 20-point plan" to end Israel's war in Gaza.
He explained that the agreement will be implemented in stages, noting that the Israeli army will withdraw in conjunction with the disarmament process.
Trump stressed that this agreement is a very important step towards finally submitting Gaza to the rule of a new Palestinian government that will work closely with the Peace Council to help the Palestinian people.
