At three o'clock in the morning, the Beirut Slaughterhouse Authority conducted a field inspection of the "Mar'i" slaughterhouse located in the Wata al-Musaytbeh area at the request of the Governor of Beirut, Marwan Abboud, and with the support of the Beirut Office of the Intelligence Directorate of the Lebanese Army and the Beirut Guard Regiment.
The Public Relations Department of the Beirut Municipality indicated in a statement that an inspection of the slaughterhouse located in the Msaytbeh real estate area showed that it was operating without a license and without the supervision of a veterinarian.
She added that an arrest report was prepared against the violator, while Governor Abboud issued Resolution No. 851/B, ordering the slaughterhouse to be closed and sealed with red wax. The slaughterhouse authority implemented the decision with support from the Beirut Guard Regiment.
The municipality stressed the continuation of its monitoring tours and taking the necessary legal and administrative measures against violators, especially in activities that pose a threat to public health and food safety.
