The head of the National Union of Lebanese Peasants, Ibrahim Tarshishi, called in a statement on all farmers to “prepare to carry out a general and comprehensive strike, accompanied by the closure of roads in various Lebanese territories, in protest against the “artificial” fuel crisis hitting the Bekaa region,” considering it “the result of the monopoly of oil companies and their pursuit of more profits at the expense of citizens and productive sectors.”
