The head of the Lebanese Forces Party, Samir Geagea, stressed the necessity of referring the Dahr al-Baydar explosives file to the Judicial Council, considering that the case “threatens national security, civil peace, and the prestige of the state.” Geagea pointed out during a television interview that “the party’s positions are far from populism,” stressing that they are based on political convictions. Geagea expressed his regret for the positions issued by Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, stressing that "Salam is a friend and will remain a friend." He pointed out that “there is a political scene in the country that prevents me from saying things as they are,” adding: “I am tired of such and such a thing,” but I refrain from speaking about it in order to serve the cause in which I believe, and in light of the presence of priorities that impose themselves at the current stage. Geagea considered that the Lebanese Forces and Presidents Joseph Aoun and Nawaf Salam are in “the same boat,” stressing that his party is not working to score points against them, explaining that the disagreements that sometimes occur are related to the method of work. In this context, he pointed out that “the presidents of the republic and the government have moved the country to an acceptable form of state,” adding that there are matters in daily practice that are “unbearable,” especially since matters have reached dangerous turns.”
