Hezbollah Executive Council Chairman Sheikh Ali Damoush announced, in a press conference, “the launch of a shelter program for those whose homes were destroyed or damaged and are no longer fit for habitation.”
He pointed out that "the program provides for renting a house and purchasing furniture, as is the program that we worked on in 2024," explaining that "the controls are linked to the available capabilities, otherwise all of our people deserve that we provide them with everything."
He said: “The program includes owners of completely or partially demolished housing units, owners of demolished housing units in buildings scheduled to be completely or partially demolished based on studies, and displaced people from the occupied border areas or those adjacent to them who were displaced from their villages, whether their units were demolished, damaged or undamaged. These areas include all towns under occupation or adjacent to them, and owners of residential units affected by structural damage or major non-structural damage that makes them unsustainable.” For housing, families who used these dwellings as permanent homes and not summer homes will benefit from shelter assistance if they do not own another home that constitutes an alternative to their residential home.”
Damoush confirmed, “The amount is $14,000 for residential units in Beirut, the capital, and the suburbs, and the approved amount outside Beirut and the suburbs is $12,000.”
He explained, "The amount includes a rent of $6,000 in the suburb and Beirut and $4,000 outside of them," adding: "We will start with the first payment, which is $3,500 for the suburb and Beirut and $3,000 outside of them."
