Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri stressed participation in the Cabinet session scheduled for tomorrow, in light of the explosives shipment file, which a number of ministers are expected to demand that it be referred to the Judicial Council. Berri confirmed: “We will participate in the government session tomorrow,” and when asked about the possibility of withdrawing if the file is raised, he replied: “We will not withdraw.” He pointed out that there is a law regulating the referral of files to the Judicial Council, stressing the need to deal with the case within its legal framework. As for his relationship with Hezbollah, Berri indicated that the relationship was closer during the days of the party’s former Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah, based on the principle that there is neither an older brother nor a younger brother.
