President Joseph Aoun told a delegation from the "Lebanese Youth Movement" headed by Wadih Hanna that loyalty must be to Lebanon, considering that anyone who relies on foreign backing against another domestically is a loser, pointing out that the outside will abandon him sooner or later, and no war has ever occurred in Lebanon in which there was a winner; rather, everyone lost and the nation lost. Aoun emphasized that the option of negotiation was chosen because we are a sovereign state and it is a decision in Lebanon's interest, not to please anyone abroad. Aoun noted that when he calls for ending the state of hostility with Israel, "I mean ending the wars that destroyed the country and took innocent lives, and we no longer have the capacity to bear them, and any interpretation other than that is false and suspicious." Aoun stressed that there is no backing down from the reforms he committed to in his inaugural address, and the delay resulted from the war that targeted Lebanon, affirming that work will continue to achieve them because they embody the image of the new Lebanon. He concluded: We are waging a battle against corruption, and fighting it will be through the judiciary, digital government, and the cooperation of the Lebanese with the state.
