Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea stated that "Nabatieh is under fire," expressing fear that its fate will mirror that of "Ali Al-Taher," "Al-Shaqif," and other border villages.
Geagea pointed out that Nabatieh holds historical symbolism and an important economic and cultural position, and remains bustling with residents to this day, noting that a significant portion of these residents have issued a clear appeal to the Lebanese state to assume its responsibilities under these difficult circumstances.
He added that "the authorities are called upon, at this very moment, to implement the relevant Council of Ministers resolutions, particularly the government decision issued on March 2, 2026, which considers Hezbollah's military and security wings to be outlawed."
Geagea called on the authorities to implement this decision at this specific time, at least in the city of Nabatieh and its surroundings, with the necessary firmness and clarity, to expel all illegal armed men from Nabatieh, dismantle their infrastructure, and brief the American side on what the Lebanese army is doing so that it can play its role in stopping the fire to which Nabatieh and its surroundings are subjected.
Geagea concluded: "As for saying that the Lebanese army is already deployed in Nabatieh, that does not put bread on the table at the present time. What is required is not merely that the Lebanese army deploys, but that it dismantles all illegal military and security structures in the areas of its deployment, and imposes its authority alone, in implementation of the Lebanese government's decisions."
