Minister of Finance Yassine Jaber issued a decision bearing the number 1/751 dated August 28, 2026, relating to the suspension of the running of a number of legal and contractual deadlines, particularly those linked to real estate transactions.
The decision stipulates the suspension of the running of legal and contractual deadlines granted to persons in the public and private sectors, during the period extending from March 1, 2026 until July 31, 2026, including formal and procedural deadlines and those extended to the basis of the right, provided that the deadlines resume running as of August 1, 2026 in accordance with the procedures specified in the decision.
The decision includes, in particular, the deadlines related to the ownership of real estate in-kind rights by non-Lebanese, the declaration of modern constructions, the priority of registration in the Land Registry, and precautionary restrictions recorded in real estate sheets, in addition to some deadlines stipulated in the Public Housing Establishment Law.
The decision clarifies that deadlines whose nature had expired before March 1, 2026 do not benefit from the suspension, while deadlines that were ongoing benefit from its provisions, provided they are completed in accordance with the rules specified in the decision.
