The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Syrian Arab Republic condemned the "illegal entry" of Katz into Syrian territory, considering his crossing of the international borders "a flagrant violation of the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity." Ths Syrian Foreign Ministry stressed that these hostile practices constitute a clear provocation, a violation of international law and the United Nations Charter, and a breach of the obligations of the 1974 Disengagement Agreement, as well as what it imposes in terms of respecting the ceasefire lines and not crossing them. Damascus called on the international community to assume its legal and political responsibilities, take the necessary measures to compel the occupation authorities to halt these repeated violations, immediately and fully withdraw from the Syrian territories into which the occupation forces have incursioned, return to the disengagement line, and respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Syrian Arab Republic.
