Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa congratulated the Syrian people in a speech at dawn on Tuesday on the official removal of Syria's name from the list of state sponsors of terrorism. He said: "Here is Syria today shaking off a black stain from its shoulders, and tearing apart with its own hands a page from its painful past, to set forth into the expanse of development, reconstruction, and building." He added: "Great people of Syria, you have done it again. The sanctions have been lifted from you and the restrictions have been resolved.. I ask Almighty God to help us serve you." President al-Sharaa concluded his speech by saying: "I extend my deepest thanks to the President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, and to everyone who stood by us from friendly and supportive countries."
