Army Commander Rudolf Heikal affirmed that the military institution will remain a guarantor of security and civil peace, and will not allow stability to be destabilized or the nation dragged into strife. On the occasion of the 81st Army Day, Heikal issued today’s order, which stated: Military men On the first of August, we remember with pride the army’s journey through eighty-one years of giving, sacrifice, and loyalty. We renew our pledge to the nation that you preserved with your blood and sacrifices. We bow in reverence to the souls of our righteous martyrs who gave their most valuable possessions in defense of Lebanon. We salute our heroic wounded, and all of our retirees who preceded us in serving the nation, who performed their duty with honor and sincerity. Military men The challenges and dangers facing our nation are increasing, and the army is committed to carrying out all its missions despite the great difficulties in terms of limited capabilities, the gravity of the tasks, and the precision of the circumstances, from controlling the northern and eastern borders and monitoring the maritime borders and territorial waters, to combating terrorism, organized crime, drug trafficking, and preventing smuggling, as the army completes its deployment in the south in accordance with existing understandings in line with national requirements and constants, and continues its efforts to secure the safe and secure return of our people to their villages. And their towns, and its readiness to deploy in all the occupied territories from which the Israeli occupation forces withdraw, but the occupation continues to continue its attacks and violations to hinder the army’s efforts.
