The Ministry of Public Works and Transport announced in a statement that "within the framework of following up on the repercussions of the torrents in the Mkalles area and what the initial data showed regarding the worksite in Mansourieh, Minister of Public Works and Transport Fayez Rassamny submitted a notification to the Court of Cassation Public Prosecutor, requesting the necessary investigations to be conducted, responsibilities to be determined, and anyone whose negligence or default is proven to be held accountable." The ministry affirmed that the investigation must include all concerned parties without exception, from the contractor and the supervising consulting firm to whomever it may be if their responsibility is proven. It pointed out that it "has taken a precautionary measure stipulating that no new works will be assigned to the contractor or the concerned consulting firm until the investigations are completed and responsibilities are clarified, while placing all documents and technical reports at the disposal of the judiciary." Minister Rassamny stressed that "public safety and public funds do not tolerate any laxity, and everyone whose responsibility is proven will be held accountable according to the law, regardless of their status or position."
