The LAF Command - Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement: An army unit in the Chtoura - Zahlé area, following surveillance and security monitoring, arrested citizens (R.Q.), (J.J.), and (A.K.) for forming an armed robbery and theft gang, impersonating security personnel, and assaulting citizens, and seized a stolen sum of money in their possession. It also arrested citizen (M.T.) and Syrian (A.R.) in the area of Temnine el-Tahta - Bekaa for instigating a dispute over personal reasons, and seized a quantity of military ammunition in their possession. During the arrest operation, an exchange of fire occurred between the two mentioned individuals and army elements, who responded in kind without any injuries resulting. Likewise, army units in the North region carried out security measures that included raiding operations, deploying motorized patrols, and setting up temporary checkpoints to pursue wanted individuals and troublemakers and combat human smuggling, resulting in the arrest of 3 citizens and 46 Syrians as follows: Arresting citizens (A.A.) and (M.M.) in the areas of Chadra - Akkar and Sfireh - Minieh-Danniyeh for firing gunshots. Arresting citizen (A.A.) in the Khalsah - Akkar area for facilitating human smuggling operations across the Lebanese-Syrian border. Arresting 46 Syrians for entering Lebanese territory illegally. The seized items were handed over and investigation with the detainees was initiated under the supervision of the competent judiciary.
