MP Akram Chehayeb announced, after his meeting with President Joseph Aoun at Baabda Palace, that he congratulated the president on his safe return from Washington, noting that he had informed him of the results of the meetings he held with American officials, led by President Donald Trump. During his meeting with the President of the Republic, MP Akram Chehayeb stressed the importance of the positions announced by the President during his visit to Washington, especially with regard to Lebanon’s right to preserve its sovereignty and preserve its lands, and the necessity of the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the areas it occupies in the south. He also stressed the importance of working to preserve national unity, and strengthening the role of the military institution in protecting it and maintaining stability, stressing that the Lebanese state must be the sole body responsible for security, and that weapons must be controlled throughout Lebanese territory.
