MP Ibrahim Kanaan, after his meeting with the President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, at Baabda Palace, believed that “internal stability and strengthening the effective presence internationally constitute a priority at the current stage.”
He stressed that "there is no alternative to the state and its institutions, from the President of the Republic to the military establishment, all the way to all Lebanese," considering that "there is no war to serve foreign agendas, and no peace at the expense of sovereignty; the goal is one: protecting Lebanon, its borders, its stability, and its people."
He stressed that "the war, in light of the current international and regional balances, does not serve Lebanon's interest."
Kanaan pointed out that "the ceasefire constitutes an entry into a new phase that is being prepared, in preparation for a settlement that is not far away."
He pointed out that "Lebanon is affected by global economic conditions, and with the end of the stage the necessity of reforms emerges to restore the confidence of the Lebanese and the international community."
