Let us learn from the past... Geagea: To control security without hesitation or delay

The head of the Lebanese Forces Party, Samir Geagea, issued the following statement:
On the occasion of the 51st anniversary of the ill-fated 1975 war, weeping over the ruins, nor flowery poems about the benefits of national unity, Lebanese coexistence, etc., will benefit us. What is really useful is drawing lessons and learnings.
The main lesson on this occasion is that what brought us to the 1975 war was the state’s hesitation and hesitation since the mid-sixties, its failure to take the required security measures, and ultimately its failure to protect its people, which put large segments of the Lebanese in direct confrontation with outlaw armed groups.
To move to the present day, nothing threatens civil peace, or, God forbid, pushes Lebanon towards the forbidden, except the failure of the deep-rooted political state to assume its responsibilities and control security without hesitation, delay, or mitigating reasons.
I hope that we will all draw the necessary lessons from the 1975 war, to avoid any similar repetition, neither in the near nor distant future, God willing.
