The Minister of Interior and Municipalities, Ahmad al-Hajjar, confirmed in a press conference from the Al-Hilu barracks that “the security situation in Lebanon is portrayed as completely unrestrained, but the facts indicate the opposite.” He referred to "the efforts of the security forces in recent weeks to prevent pickpocketing operations," and said: "I understand the people's cry, and we in the operations room monitor complaints around the clock." He pointed out that "since the beginning of this month, eight pickpocketing operations and four robbery operations have been recorded on all Lebanese lands," explaining that "pickpocketing operations have decreased significantly, while looting operations have increased."
