The Beirut and Mount Lebanon Water Corporation responded, in a statement, to what was contained in a news item published on a website under the title “Al-Sadi retreats before Jumblatt,” stressing that “the claim that the re-feeding came as a result of political interference or pressure is baseless.”
The corporation explained in its statement that “the measure to cut off electricity from water stations was a general and official measure that included all regions extending from the Chouf to Jbeil without any exception, and did not take into account any regional, sectarian or partisan calculations.”
She indicated that the issue was addressed immediately and directly between the Corporation’s management and the Electricité du Liban Corporation within a purely administrative and institutional framework, and the electricity supply was restored to all concerned areas within 36 hours.
