President Joseph Aoun described the cases of fraud recorded in Beirut and Akkar as a crime that will not be tolerated. President Aoun informed the head of the Lebanese Food Safety Authority, Professor Elie Naji Awad, and the members of the authority that food safety is a priority, that safe food is the right of every citizen, and that protecting it is the responsibility of the state. He stressed that accountability must extend to everyone involved, from the supplier to the warehouse, and to those who covered up the violation.
