The Cabinet session, which was chaired by Dr. Nawaf Salam, in the Government Serail, was devoted to discussing the waste file, in the presence of a number of ministers and in the absence of the Ministers of Energy, Water, Industry, Foreign Affairs, and Artificial Intelligence. The Minister of Information, Paul Morcos, announced after the session that the Council listened to the Minister of Environment’s presentation on the structural reforms required to activate the management of the sector and ensure its sustainability, which would contribute to attracting private sector investments. He pointed out that the research addressed a number of measures, most notably the cost recovery law, the appointment of the Board of Directors of the National Solid Waste Management Authority, in addition to the updated strategy for waste management.
