The Public Relations Department of the Beirut Municipality reported in an explanatory statement that the Governor of Beirut, Judge Marwan Abboud, issued a decision to close Nadini Restaurant, based on information received from the Ministry of Public Health, against the backdrop of recording cases of poisoning suspected to be related to eating food. Governor Abboud issued a decision to close and seal the Rehamco warehouse in the Raouche area, Australia Street, which was distributing meat to a number of restaurants, with red wax, as part of the measures taken to follow up on the case and verify the safety of the food materials in circulation. In parallel, Governor Abboud issued a decision to lift the seals on the main entrance and the hall, while keeping the kitchen closed. This comes within the framework of taking into account the principle of proportionality in taking precautionary measures, so that restrictions are limited to what is required to protect public health. Abboud stressed, “This measure does not constitute permission to reopen the restaurant, but rather aims to allow access to the section not designated for food preparation, within the conditions and oversight specified in the decision, while continuing to prohibit operation until the results of laboratory tests are issued.” The statement urged "the media and websites not to circulate false news, to verify the news before publishing or circulating it, and to obtain the correct information from its source in the Beirut Municipality, through the Public Relations Department, the only official source authorized to publish news and data belonging to the Beirut Municipality."
