The head of the Phalange Party, MP Sami Gemayel, considered that “the main battle in the next stage is to refer the file of the Hezbollah arms shipment, which was seized in Dahr al-Baydar, to the Judicial Council,” stressing that the Phalange will continue its pressure to establish arms control. Gemayel stressed that "Hezbollah's threats that internal confrontations could erupt are nothing but an attempt to intimidate political officials." Gemayel pointed out that “the party acknowledged its ownership of the seized weapons, and said that they were intended to confront Israel,” noting that Minister of Justice Adel Nassar was the one who initiated the referral of the Dahr al-Baidar case to the Judicial Council, based on the consideration that this council is competent in everything that affects national security. Gemayel warned that “senior officials may possess data that others do not have, which explains their method of action.” He stressed "the necessity of protecting Lebanon with firmness and intelligence, and coordination between political forces, President Joseph Aoun, and Prime Minister Nawaf Salam," warning that "internal disputes are in Hezbollah's interest."
