Today, Wednesday, President Joseph Aoun received a delegation from the Board of Directors of the Electricité du Liban, headed by Engineer Nassib Nasr, and briefed them on the governance plan prepared and approved by the Council, in cooperation with the World Bank, and the ongoing steps to complete its implementation, in addition to a number of files expected to be presented to the Council of Ministers. President Aoun stressed that reforming the electricity sector constitutes a strategic national priority that transcends all political and sectarian affiliations, noting that this sector is one of the most prominent files that investors pay attention to when considering investment opportunities in Lebanon. He stressed the need for the Board of Directors to operate independently and transparently, and not be affected by criticism as long as it is committed to the law and the public interest. He called on the members of the Board of Directors to continue working, achieving achievements, and making the right decisions, no matter how difficult they are.
