The “Honest View” International Media Award continues to receive applications for participation in its fifth session, after extending the deadline until October 20, 2026, according to a statement issued by the award organizers. The award is organized by the Russian Federal Agency for International Cooperation (Rossotrodnichestvo), and targets foreign journalists, media representatives, writers and bloggers who produce information materials about Russia. The competition is divided into six categories, including the grand prize for contribution to objective coverage of Russia, the best media material on economic and social partnership, culture and traditions from an external perspective, the best material in one of the journalistic genres, the best media material by a young journalist, and the best project about Russia on social media networks. According to the statement, the award has so far received more than 400 applications from 74 countries, with interest emerging in the topic of culture and traditions, including language, literature, music, theatre, cinema, Russian cities, travel and historical memory. The organizers noted that the entries also address Russia's international relations, including cultural and educational exchange, cooperation and joint projects, along with materials reviewing the country's history and personal experiences of authors who introduce their audiences to its regions and culture. The statement pointed to the growing interest in the award over the past years, as about 118 journalists from 28 countries participated in the 2022 session, while the number of applications for participation in 2025 reached about 821 applications from 75 countries. The list of winners also included journalists and bloggers from Europe, Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America. The finalists and winners of the 2026 round will be invited to Moscow in November, to participate in a media training school and attend the awards ceremony. In September, the International Multimedia Press Center “Russia Segodnya” hosted a press conference dedicated to the fifth session of the award.
