The President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, briefed the Minister of Interior and Municipalities, Ahmad al-Hajjar, on the measures taken by the Ministry to enhance security and stability in the country, considering that the security and safety of citizens is an uncompromising priority. The security situation in the country and the measures taken by the General Directorate of Internal Security Forces, in coordination with the Lebanese Army, to enhance security deployment and patrols in various regions, especially in the capital, Beirut, were also presented. The two sides stressed the need to take the necessary proactive measures by the relevant security agencies to prevent any threats to internal security, in accordance with what was decided in the Central Internal Security Council at its last session last week.
