During his meeting with the Qatari Prime Minister and Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman bin Jassim Al Thani, the President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, expressed his appreciation for the role played by the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and the Qatari leadership in the constant pursuit of the return of stability to the countries of the region, by bringing viewpoints closer together and removing the causes that lead to escalation.
President Aoun thanked the Emir of Qatar and the Qatari government for the support that Lebanon receives in all fields, hoping that Qatar would continue its efforts with the brotherly Arab countries and friendly countries to pressure Israel to stop its attacks in the south and implement the framework agreement that was reached as a result of negotiations between Lebanon and Israel under American sponsorship.
The President of the Republic renewed his condemnation of the attacks against the Gulf states, the latest of which were the attacks on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, stressing the solidarity of Lebanon, its leadership and people, with its brothers in the Gulf states.
President Aoun welcomed any cooperation between the two countries in various fields, especially in the field of energy, which Qatar had previously expressed its willingness to help find solutions to the electricity crisis that Lebanon is suffering from.
