Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri received Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman and discussed with him developments in the situation in Lebanon and the region and political and field developments in light of Israel’s continued attacks on Lebanon, in addition to Lebanese-Qatari relations. President Berri thanked Qatar for its constant support for Lebanon, all of Lebanon and its south in particular, and Qatar’s keenness to support Lebanon’s sovereignty and liberate its entire land from the Israeli occupation, the return of the displaced to their villages and towns, and its readiness to support the recovery of Lebanon and its sectors, as well as to contribute to reconstruction. Berri stressed the consistency in positions with the Qatari Prime Minister on the importance of strengthening internal national unity and supporting institutions, especially security ones, most notably the Lebanese army.
