Minister of Education and Higher Education, Rima Karami, met with member of the Democratic Gathering, MP Raji Al-Saad, at the head of a delegation of the people of the town of Rashmiya. The delegation included the mayor, Dalia Farah, the three mayors, Joseph Bou Silwan, Tony Najm, and Fadi Al-Kafrawi, former Rashmiya secondary school principal, Salwa Khattar, the head of the “Rooted” Association, Maroun Moussa, and the director of the office of MP Al-Saad, Jean Saad.
Minister Karami was briefed on their request to keep the secondary school operating in view of the specificity that characterizes the Rashmiya Public Secondary School, which, according to Al-Saad, goes beyond “the issue of student numbers to form a basic pillar for the town and the entire region, and contribute to stabilizing the return to the mountain.”
The delegation appealed to the Minister of Education “to take this privacy into account and help keep the doors of the high school open,” noting “her positivity and understanding of the situation of the town and the mountain.”
