The Minister of Education and Higher Education, Dr. Rima Karami, issued Resolution No. 1312/M/2026, dated 9/25/2026, regarding the start of registration for the afternoon shift, which stated: “The Minister of Education and Higher Education, based on Decree No. (53) dated 2/8/2025 (forming the government), Based on Decree No. (2869) dated 12/16/1959 (organizing the Ministry of Education and Higher Education), Based on Decree No. (2089) dated 10/18/1971 (specifying actual teaching days and its amendments), especially Decree No. 735 dated 7/22/2025, Based on Resolution No. 1130/M/2001 dated 9/10/2001 (the internal regulations for kindergarten and formal basic education schools), Based on Resolution No. 1190/M/2026 dated 8/31/2026 (beginning of the 2026/2027 academic year) After polling the opinion of the director of primary education, Based on the proposal of the Director General of Education, the following was decided: Article One: Registration in official schools accredited for the afternoon shift to teach non-Lebanese students begins as of the date of issuance of this decision and in accordance with the standards that were approved for the last academic year, provided that decisions related to identifying schools and organizational procedures will be issued later. Article Two: This decision shall be notified to whoever is required and it shall be implemented from the date of its issuance.”
