US Secretary of State Marco Rubio affirmed that reaching an agreement with Iran will require arduous efforts over a period of time, noting that President Trump possesses military options. He pointed out that the United States "will continue to defend the straits and ensure they remain open," emphasizing that Iran will not possess a nuclear weapon. He indicated that he "will not disclose the content of the talks between the Iranians and envoy Steve Witkoff," adding that "Iran is the one that violated the memorandum of understanding and attacked its neighbors." He announced that the United States has invited Russian President Vladimir Putin to participate in the Group of Twenty (G20) summit scheduled to be held in Miami in December. He added: "In order to solve problems, one must meet with those with whom we disagree or with whom we may have differences, and therefore we invited President Putin to the G20." He said, "We believe this is an opportunity for him to communicate not only with US President Donald Trump, but also with other world leaders. We hope he will accept this invitation." Rubio affirmed that "the United States will fulfill its obligations under the defense agreement with Saudi Arabia." He pointed out that "there will be no progress in addressing the conflict in Sudan unless the external parties behind fueling the war are prepared to use their influence." He emphasized that "the United States does not want to see new flashpoints of tension in the occupied West Bank."
