President of the Republic General Joseph Aoun expressed his deep satisfaction with the course of deliberations witnessed at the Paris preparatory meeting to support the Lebanese Army and the Internal Security Forces, held today at the "Invalides" Palace in Paris, highly praising the efforts made by French President Emmanuel Macron and Jordanian King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein in preparing for this meeting, and their continuous keenness to support Lebanon in this delicate phase of its history. He also thanked the countries and international organizations that participated in the meeting, considering that this indicates the status Lebanon holds among these entities. Before leaving the French capital to return to Beirut, the President of the Republic expressed his hope that the needs of the Lebanese Army and the Internal Security Forces, as presented in the reports submitted by the Lebanese delegation participating in the meeting, will receive the required response from brotherly and friendly countries and entities, allowing the enhancement of the capabilities of the two military and security institutions and enabling them to carry out their national duties. President Aoun reiterated his commitment to the unifying Lebanese constants, foremost among which are safeguarding sovereignty, preserving national dignity, and the exclusivity of arms in the hands of the Lebanese state alone. He stressed the pivotal role played by the Lebanese Army in extending the state's authority over all Lebanese territories, especially in the South after its liberation, to solidify the country's stability and fortify its unity.
