Minister of Interior and Municipalities Ahmed Al-Hajjar held a bilateral meeting with Pakistani Minister of Interior and Narcotics Control Mohsin Naqvi in Islamabad, discussing Lebanese-Pakistani relations and ways to enhance them, particularly at the security level in light of what Lebanon is going through and the continuation of Israeli attacks in the south. Security and coordination between the relevant institutions in both countries constituted a major focus of the expanded talks, which were attended by Lebanon's Ambassador to Pakistan Abdul Aziz Issa, Director General of the Internal Security Forces Maj. Gen. Raed Abdullah, Head of the Secretariat of the Central Internal Security Council Brigadier General Sami Nasif, and Head of the Information Branch in the Internal Security Forces Brigadier General Mahmoud Qabersli. Ministers Al-Hajjar and Naqvi discussed common security challenges, regional and international variables and their repercussions on the security and stability of states, alongside ways to enhance cooperation between the two ministries of interior and develop a practical mechanism for coordination and the exchange of expertise and information, contributing to strengthening institutional capacities and confronting emerging security challenges. Minister Al-Hajjar stressed that "security cooperation constitutes a fundamental pillar in protecting stability and enhancing the ability of security institutions to face common challenges." Ministers Al-Hajjar and Naqvi exchanged views on a number of regional and international files, and affirmed the continuation of consultation and coordination on issues of common interest and the strengthening of efforts aimed at consolidating security and stability.
