Hezbollah held a commemorative event in the city of Nabatieh for the martyrs of the "Al-Asf al-Ma'kul" battle, in the presence of Loyalty to the Resistance bloc MP Ali Fayad, Ali Qanso representing MP Mohammad Raad, Nabatieh Mayor Abbas Fakih Dine, Hezbollah's Second Jabal Amel region official Ali Zaoun, families of the martyrs, local figures, and town residents. Lathe event began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by the national anthem and the Hezbollah anthem. Then, Hezbollah's speech was delivered by Fayad, who said: "From Nabatieh, the capital of Jabal Amel and its stronghold in history and the present, the city of Imam Hussein, the city that raised the slogan 'Far be from us humiliation,' presented the finest of its sons, and affirms its loyalty to this resistance blood, declaring that its choice is to resist the enemy, liberate the land, stand firm and steadfast in confronting it, and reject all those who collude with this enemy or bet on it. The stage is a stage of clear choices, far from ambiguity, confusion, and evasion. We are in a phase where there is no choice other than the choice of steadfastness, defending our existence, our land, our homeland, our sovereignty, our freedom, and our state. Nabatieh stands with the choice of resistance in the face of the enemy, and with the state that stands by its people to defend and protect them, to provide refuge and shelter for their displaced, and for the destroyed villages—reconstruction, development, and stability... The state that makes liberation its supreme goal without compromising sovereignty or rights." He added: "We salute the memory of our heroic martyrs, who passed away in heroic circumstances; we cherish every single one of them, their heroism, contributions, and sacrifices. Their journey is inexhaustible, just like this community's capacity to stand firm and steadfast in its principles and convictions, and to defy hardships and dangers... All of this has astonished the world, as what was practiced against it aimed to distance it from the resistance and divert it from it only made it more attached and cohesive... despite the suffering, pain, and sacrifices. Our loyalty to our martyrs, their loved ones, their families, our community, and our environment." He continued: "The displaced, or those whose homes were destroyed—we translate this into our steadfastness in our goals to liberate and preserve the land... in making every effort to return them to their homes and livelihoods, to rebuild what was destroyed, to secure all support to shelter them, restore their homes, and secure their basic needs... in confronting a comprehensive war and a designated destructive campaign of extermination waged against us at various levels by the Israeli enemy, which occupied our land, destroyed our villages, and killed our people with American support, regional cover, and internal collusion. Given its nature and composition, we expect nothing from the enemy except criminality, killing, and the desire for expansion, and we expect nothing from the American except to provide it with military support and political cover. However, the performance of the Lebanese authorities—negotiating and internal—was dangerous and catastrophic, because they were not content with submitting to the results of the aggression and abstaining from confronting it, leaving the Lebanese people out in the open to face killing and bulldozing. Rather, their policies and positions went so far as to meet the aggression halfway, seeking to translate its results internally and forming an extension of it. They treated the resistance as an outlaw entity, rushed to escalate the problem with it and its environment, and set themselves the goal of uprooting the resistance, politically containing it, and eliminating it as a political phenomenon within the Lebanese reality." He said: "The authorities delude themselves into thinking they are in a position of dominance, proceeding in their policies and positions from absolute subservience to the American and appeasement of the Israeli. Therefore, they were not content with their decisions against the resistance, but went beyond that to expel the Iranian ambassador and halt Iranian flights. They are working to encircle us within state institutions, weaken us, and oust us from state institutions. What remains most dangerous in the authorities' stance is their bet on the Israeli to complete the task of eliminating the resistance, so that their political choice can succeed in altering Lebanese balances and leading Lebanon into alignments that contradict its composition and the requirements of its stability. Not content with all of this, these authorities have begun tampering with sensitive internal balances and the relations among its components. Therefore, in light of what we are witnessing from some, the Taif Agreement appears to face a genuine threat, as there are those seeking to bypass it, strike it down, and tamper with the balances it produced. If this indicates anything, it reflects poor judgment and misunderstanding, and mirrors delusional and dangerous bets." He added: "In contrast to all of this, these authorities failed to realize the most impactful truth that would redraw balances entirely in Lebanon and other arenas: the regional environment with its balances emerging from Iranian steadfastness in confronting the American-Israeli war, which has placed the entire region on the threshold of a new phase, its most prominent title being American failure, Israeli helplessness, and Iranian steadfastness. We are facing a transforming region open to a new regional order, with balances interconnected from the Strait of Hormuz to Bab el-Mandeb to southern Lebanon. Therefore, the broader approach necessitates a different understanding of the trajectory of the Lebanese arena. The Lebanese authorities have been given their chance time and time again... and the result is the accumulation of failure and setbacks. Israeli overreach knows no bounds and cares nothing for a policy of appeasement in the face of its expansionist aspirations. Yesterday's Israeli targeting of the Lebanese Army in Deir Mimas is clear proof that the authorities' concessions mean nothing to the Israeli, who instead meets them with further targeting and escalation." He concluded: "It is time for these authorities to halt their erroneous bets, cease waiting for the Israeli elections, acknowledge the failure of their choice, reconsider their policies, speak frankly to the Lebanese about the state of affairs, and restore priority to the understanding among the Lebanese themselves in confronting the Israeli occupation and aggression." The occasion featured the screening of a film recalling images of the martyrs and milestones from their lives and journey, before the program concluded with a mourning gathering in a scene combining tribute, loyalty, and remembrance of those who gave their lives for what they believed in.
