Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri indicated in an interview with "Al-Jumhouria" that the situation in Lebanon is "dangerous," pointing out that "all solutions are far away" and that "the framework agreement has fallen apart," adding: "If the Israeli wants to occupy, he can do so. Regarding the government's performance, Berri said: "We will see accountability," and in response to a question about whether it will be held accountable in Parliament, he replied: "There will be accountability. Regarding the government's policy of imposing fees and taxes, he considered that "the state needs money, and it is not supposed to take money from those who need it. Regarding the role of the Lebanese Army in light of the Israeli escalation, Berri stressed that "the army is the main pillar, indeed the main bridge for Lebanese nation-building. Concerning his relationship with President Joseph Aoun, Berri stressed that the relationship between them "exists," despite disagreements on a number of files, affirming that this "does not prevent their friendship together. Regarding the possibility of achieving solutions and breakthroughs in the coming phase, Berri said: "I am not optimistic," attributing this to the continued killing and the fall of martyrs, including children, in addition to leveling and demolition works. He concluded by saying: "The move they are undertaking is worthless.. Unfortunately, there are no solutions."
