The media office of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education announced in a statement that "it was decided to postpone the official exams for private candidates in general education for the intermediate certificate and the general secondary certificate in its four branches to a date to be determined later, in light of the Shura Council's decision or the legislation that may be issued by the Parliament in this regard." It explained that this decision comes "in enforcement of the decision of the State Shura Council issued today, 24/8/2026, in review number 27121/2026, which decided to suspend the implementation of the circular issued by the Director General of Education number 61/2026."
