President of the Republic Joseph Aoun received the Secretary of the Democratic Gathering, MP Hadi Abu Al-Hassan, and the meeting reviewed the general situation in the country and the latest developments, particularly those related to negotiations and the cease-fire. President Aoun also received former Minister Elias Al-Murr at the Baabda Palace. Al-Murr considered after the meeting that "negotiation in light of war is not surprising, but rather the natural path that countries resort to in order to address conflicts and protect their national interests." He stressed his full confidence in the Lebanese delegation, especially the military team participating in the negotiations, because the military institution represents all Lebanese and carries a history of sacrifices in defending the land and sovereignty. Al-Murr expressed his optimism about the possibility of achieving positive and tangible results, in light of the pivotal role played by the Presidency of the Republic and the efforts led by His Excellency the President.
