Loyalty to the Resistance bloc member, MP Hassan Fadlallah, emphasized that the resistance in Lebanon today is the indispensable national choice for liberating our land, defending our people, and protecting our country. It will continue, persist, and remain, and it will not back down until it forces the enemy to withdraw from our land and halt its aggressions against our country. No matter the costs and sacrifices, it will not accept returning to the past phase—meaning to before March 2—and this is a decisively resolved decision for it. Consequently, any new agreement reached in Lebanon must guarantee that there will be no aggression against our country in any form whatsoever. MP Fadlallah’s remarks came during a commemorative ceremony held by Hezbollah for a group of Islamic Resistance martyrs from the third sector who ascended in the "Asf Ma'kul" battle in defense of Lebanon and its people, at the Al-Barjawi Husseiniya in Bir al-Hasan, in the presence of a number of figures, parliamentary, political, and clerical personalities, the families of the martyrs, and a crowd of citizens. MP Fadlallah pointed out that there are prices and sacrifices we are paying today in this war, and those paying them are our environment, our people, and the South in defense of all of Lebanon. All we want from some in our country is to keep their tongues, evils, conspiracies, and backstabbing away from our resistance. With our people, our will, our martyrs, and our mujahideen, we take it upon ourselves to confront this enemy, liberate our land, and prevent aggression against our country. This is a choice we have taken and committed to, and there is no turning back from it, stressing that the field is steadfast, and we have steadfast men whom mountains would move before their feet waver in confronting the enemy. Accordingly, there is no fear for this resistance, nor for its future, and we will foil any conspiracy targeting it from whatever party it may come. MP Fadlallah said that there are those who insist on obscuring the facts by claiming that we dragged the country into war and did not consult anyone. Such people were unconcerned by what the enemy has been committing daily for 15 months. We had repeatedly stated in our meetings with the Presidents of the Republic and the Council of Ministers, the political forces, and international parties that our patience has limits, our blood is not cheap, and time is running out. Despite all of this, the authorities did not do what was required of them, and the enemy did not commit to stopping its aggressions, so the response came at a favorable regional moment to forge a new protection equation. He added: When there is aggression and occupation, the resistance does not need permission, and defending the land does not require a national consensus, especially since there has never been such a consensus in Lebanon one day. Lebanon has been divided throughout its existence regarding the conflict with the Israeli enemy, and today the South is subjected to what it is subjected to, and there are people in Lebanon who sometimes applaud this enemy. Despite all of this, we said that we could reach an understanding on a national security strategy and on how to defend our country, but as long as there is occupation, there is resistance. MP Fadlallah said that we distinguish between the state and the authorities; the state is not reduced to individuals, the government, and persons. The state is a unifying title for all of us, and we are part of it and represented in it. However, when an official is in a certain position in the state, they must not act as a party, a side, or a faction, but rather act in accordance with what the constitution and the charter dictate. Both call for understanding among the pillars of the state, but today there is a sharp division within it regarding the political choice resorted to by some parties of the authorities through direct negotiation with the enemy, making free concessions, and presenting Lebanon subservient and humiliated before this enemy, at a time when the resistance presents it as a homeland of dignity, pride, and valor. MP Fadlallah added: We told them not to go down this path because it will not benefit you, the enemy will not give you anything, and you will not achieve anything. Even until today, you have not obtained a comprehensive ceasefire; killing and destruction continue. For us, these negotiations with all their results do not concern us, we will not implement them, and we will not allow them to pass. We have a living, free people and a steadfast resistance capable of thwarting all the goals of these negotiations, which are increasing the country's sharp division among the groups of our people and within the state itself. MP Fadlallah called on the authorities to return to the embrace of their people and to reach an understanding among the state's components, so that we may go together to face the effects of the aggression with a unified national stance, rather than surrender and submission. He considered that those who surrender to the enemy are politically and nationally suicidal, and they are the ones who sold their religion for the worldly life of others. As for the resistance, it is an act of heroism, martyrdom, and sacrifice, and the martyrs are nothing but a title of the titles of this resistance, which, God willing, will not emerge from this war except victorious. MP Fadlallah pointed out that those bearing responsibility for stirring up problems in the country, promoting sedition, and spreading division among the Lebanese are those who allow the broadcasting of hate speech and incitement—which is what some authorities, their media mouthpieces, and some political forces are doing. Therefore, whoever wants to preserve civil peace and does not want sedition in the country must control their tongue and their media mouthpieces that target dignities, symbols, and high-ranking figures, and attempt to undermine the sacrifices of our martyrs and our people. MP Fadlallah continued: Those who bear the responsibility for stirring up sectarian and denominational discord are those who allow incitement. When certain channels affiliated with some authorities speak ill of our environment, our martyrs, and our symbols, they too bear, along with those who incite them, the responsibility for stirring up sedition. Consequently, whoever does not want sedition does not accept this rhetoric, and we always say that we do not want to be dragged into reactions, but this requires holding the perpetrator accountable. MP Fadlallah concluded by saying: Everyone keen on the country, unity, and civil peace must act from their responsible position to curb this rhetoric, incitement, and misinformation practiced against our people, our resistance, and our environment. This goes beyond the Shia Islamic sect, which is subjected to campaigns containing a great deal of unfairness, fabrication, lies, bullying, and targeting, to encompass all those who stand with the resistance. For within the other sects, there are many honorable people who stand with the resistance, and they represent us just as the resistance represents us. We cherish every voice with the resistance, and we consider it a national voice standing alongside the truth.
