The President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, considered that attacking the heads of Christian and Islamic sects and spiritual shrines in Lebanon is a condemnable and unacceptable act, given the values that the spiritual leaders represent that go beyond the religious dimension and touch the national dimension. Therefore, everyone is expected not to infringe on these values that embody the unity of Lebanon and its people, in addition to the fact that the applicable laws prevent such abuses and punish their perpetrators.
President Aoun called on everyone to keep differences in viewpoints within their political framework and refrain from personal insults, given the negative repercussions of such practices, especially in the current circumstances the country is going through, which require broad national solidarity.
