Head of the Baalbek-Hermel MPs bloc and member of the Loyalty to the Resistance bloc, MP Dr. Hussein Hajj Hassan, stressed that the officials who are blaming us today because we entered the war on March 2 should know that during 15 months and while holding the same positions of responsibility, they made concessions before American envoys who insulted Lebanon, and took uncharter and unconstitutional decisions on August 5 and 7 in response to American pressures. Two weeks later, America sent them a message stating that they must do what is required, and later we will see what can be done with Israel. Today, these same people are trapped in the same trap, as they went to Washington, and the Lebanese ambassador met with the Israeli ambassador following the phone call from friend Trump to the President of the Republic, informing him about the ceasefire which has not been implemented until now. MP Hajj Hassan's remarks came during the commemorative ceremony held by Hezbollah for a group of Islamic Resistance martyrs in the First Sector, at the Imam al-Baqir (as) Complex in Hay el-Sellom, in the presence of a number of clerics, figures, personalities, families of the martyrs, and a crowd of residents. MP Hajj Hassan pointed out that some Lebanese officials refused for Iran to intervene to achieve a ceasefire, and insisted that America be the mediator that informed them about the ceasefire decision about two weeks ago. However, do these officials know the number of martyrs, wounded, and the destruction in which entire villages in the south were destroyed during these days called the ceasefire presented to you by your friend Trump? MP Hajj Hassan noted that "Netanyahu" has repeatedly affirmed that the ongoing aggression and destruction in southern Lebanon under the so-called ceasefire is in agreement with the United States and Lebanon. Here we must ask some Lebanese officials: with whom did "Netanyahu" agree on this matter? And if he did not agree with you, then declare before everyone that this talk is incorrect if you have the courage, because some of the justifications provided are not enough, given that the American is the one covering this aggression against Lebanon, as stated by Trump and some American officials. MP Hajj Hassan considered that excessive appeasement of the American and concessions before him will take Lebanon to more impasses rather than more solutions, and this has been clear from the beginning of the road, especially since friend Trump himself, when he spoke about the ceasefire, meant this type of agreement that grants freedom of movement to the enemy. Also, to remove ambiguity for some officials and so that no one hides behind their finger, the November 27, 2024 agreement is clear, which stipulates Lebanon's right as well as the enemy's right to defense, giving no right to the enemy nor to Lebanon. As for the document issued by the US State Department, which stated that Lebanon agreed to its content, while officials in Lebanon did not comment on whether it is true or not, it did not mention in a single word or line that Lebanon has the right to defend itself while granting that right to the enemy. MP Hajj Hassan affirmed that we want the following demands: first, the cessation of aggression without any conditions or restrictions and without freedom of movement for the enemy. Accordingly, if the Zionist enemy commits to a full ceasefire, the resistance will commit, and if the enemy does not commit to the ceasefire and violates it, it is the right and duty of the resistance to respond, and it is doing so. Second, a complete and unconditional Israeli withdrawal from all our land, as we will not accept a yellow line nor any other color. Third, the return of the displaced to all their villages, because we will not accept a buffer zone or anything else. Fourth, the return of captives, and fifth, reconstruction. At that time, we discuss all of Lebanon's internal issues, and neither America, Israel, nor any other country has anything to do with any Lebanese internal affair. On the contrary, the Lebanese authority is required to correct its paths and retract many of the decisions it took due to American dictates and the strategic mistakes it committed. MP Hajj Hassan asked: With what mind do some in Lebanon go to direct negotiations with the enemy, which is considered a major sin, while they have a problem with a large part of the Lebanese people? And on what basis did these people determine that there is a large percentage of Lebanese who are with negotiations, peace, reconciliation, and normalization, and who conducted this poll, given that normally, many Lebanese become sensitive when talk about numbers begins? Here we invite some to return to the results of the 2022 parliamentary elections or the 2025 municipal elections, and then they will know the volume, number, and percentage of Lebanese who support the resistance, whether in the National Duo or among the allies of the resistance. MP Hajj Hassan added: Some officials in Lebanon go to direct negotiations with the enemy while they have a problem with a large part of the people and with the resistance, and they squander Lebanon's primary card of strength, which lies in national unity and in the resistance, which they deal with negatively. MP Hajj Hassan concluded by saying that despite all the harm inflicted upon us, our public, and our people from politicians, media, social media, insults, and slander, we swallow our pain and preserve national unity and internal stability, because anything that touches them serves Israeli interests and an American-Israeli project met by some from within, and holds no benefit for us.
