Minister of Labor, Mohamed Haider, condemned “the heinous crime committed by the Israeli enemy by targeting members of the Lebanese Civil Defense, in an attack that constitutes a flagrant violation of all international laws, customs, and conventions that protect emergency and humanitarian crews while performing their duties.”
He said in a statement: “As we stand on the cusp of Labor Day, we stand before the highest and most honorable meaning of work. Is there a finer and more humane work than helping people, saving lives, and helping those in distress?”
Haider stressed, "Targeting these heroes while they are carrying out their noble mission is not only a crime against Lebanon, but rather a crime against all of humanity, and a desperate attempt to break the will of steadfastness and solidarity that the Lebanese cling to in the face of aggression."
Haider called on the international community and human rights and humanitarian institutions to "assume their responsibilities, put an end to these repeated attacks, and hold their perpetrators accountable in accordance with international and humanitarian laws."
