The Army Commander, General Rudolf, inspected the command structure of the 1st Land Border Regiment in the town of Shudra - Akkar, where he was briefed on the measures taken to monitor the borders in the sector of the regiment’s responsibility in the context of the army’s efforts to protect and control the northern and eastern borders, the leadership of the 2nd Infantry Brigade in the Hanna Ghastin barracks - Arman, and the leadership of the 10th Infantry Brigade in the town of Kfarshkhna - Zgharta, where he was briefed on the missions carried out by these two units. As he congratulated the soldiers on the occasion of Army Day, he stressed the importance of protecting borders as an essential factor in protecting internal security and stability in the current exceptional period. He addressed them by saying: “You are protecting Lebanon by performing your national role to the fullest, and each of you contributes to maintaining security throughout the nation with all dedication and sincerity, despite the great difficulties. Our sacrifices keep the nation steadfast and united and provide the necessary conditions for the work of its institutions and its recovery from its crisis.” On the other hand, he pointed out the necessity of maintaining permanent readiness through continuous training, saying: “Thanks to your sincere efforts, citizens enjoy security, and we look forward to the end of the occupation and the deployment of the army on every inch of Lebanese territory to perform its national duty. Our giving is met with the love and trust of the Lebanese, and they find their salvation in the army, despite some voices that are trying to undermine the position of the military institution.” Also, the Army Commander offered condolences to the martyr First Sergeant Elie Al-Jubaili in the town of Minyara - Akkar, the martyr recruit Omar Khadr in the town of Al-Kawashra - Akkar, and the martyr Sergeant Bilal Khaled in the Al-Zahriyah area - Tripoli, praising their courage and loyalty in performing duty until martyrdom for the sake of the homeland.
