Israeli army spokesman Avichai Adraee wrote on the X platform the following:
“During the twenty-four hours before the ceasefire entered into force, the IDF launched raids targeting hundreds of elements and infrastructure used by Hezbollah to implement plans against the State of Israel and its army forces.
As part of these raids, more than 150 Hezbollah members were eliminated, and about 300 military infrastructure were targeted, including launch pads, command headquarters and weapons depots in several areas inside Lebanon.
Among those who were eliminated: the commander of the Bint Jbeil sector in Hezbollah, called Ali Reda Abbas, along with other leaders in Hezbollah. The Bint Jbeil area is one of the most important areas on the Hezbollah front, as Abbas led this sector during the fighting against the IDF forces. He also worked to advance and implement many plans against the army forces and the State of Israel over the years and contributed to the reconstruction of the Bint Jbeil sector during the war.
Abbas is the fourth Hezbollah commander of the Bint Jbeil sector to be eliminated by the IDF since the beginning of Operation Northern Arrows.
The Israeli army will continue to work to clear the areas under its control to remove any threat to the citizens of the State of Israel and its forces.”
